Currently there are not any options to change how the Yearly Dashboard calendar is displayed.  This is because the events list displayed on that Year View are not based on a specific status.  

Instead they are based on the event status values set for "Booked Events" and "Non Booked Events".  

Those are groupings of event status values based on the following setting: 

Logon to DJEP -> Setup -> Application -> Event Status -> "Booked" Event Status Options
