Partial payment of employees wages is not available at this time.

One possible work around is to add your employee to the event twice with half of the total amount for each entry.  Example: If the employees wages for an event are $100 and you want to pay them $50 upfront and $50 upon completion, you would assign that employee twice and enter a wage of $50 for each entry.
