What are some tips for reporting a bug in the software?

When you experience a bug in DJEP, be sure to post the steps to reproduce the issue. Be sure to include pertinent information like the Client ID, Event ID, Employee ID, etc..

Often times bugs are employee, event, or client specific.  If you discover a bug and say it happens to "all events", "all clients", or "all venues", this is not useful to the debugging process. Many times the support staff has attempted to reproduce the issue, only to find that it only occurs in specific circumstances. Tracking down those specific conditions is impossible if you do not post the specific details that allow us to recreate the error. Oftentimes we will log on to your account and try to produce the issue directly instead of doing it in the "Test Account".

Also, when you experience a bug, don't just tell us "it doesn't work". Post what you expect the application to do and what it actually did. Copying and pasting the exact error is also very useful.

Before reporting a bug, make sure you can reproduce the issue:

1) 100% of the time
2) In at least one other browser
3) On at least one other computer

Be sure to post the configurations in which you've reproduced the issue. For example:

You've tested issue on browsers Chrome and Firefox on two different computers and are coming up with the error every time you've tested.

Next, post the exact steps to reproduce the issue like this:

1) Log On To DJEP as Master Administrator
2) Go to Event #1234
3) Click on Edit
4) ...

Remember, the more information you can give us, the faster it is for us to help resolve the issue.
