I'm sending emails using the DJEP system and they are ending up in the Spam folder. Why is this?

Once emails leave the DJEP server, we have no control over how they are handled by the recipient's mail provider. If you are having issues with deliverability, you should contact the recipient's mail provider and work with them to resolve the issue.

1) Our servers are configured correctly.
2) Our servers are not listed on any blacklists due to our strong anti-spam policies.

Background

When you send emails through the DJEP system, the reply to address is listed as your email address. Say for example, your email address is info@djcompany.com. The DJEP system will use info@djcompany as the reply to/sending email address. Some mail providers employ IP checking as an anti-spam measure. What they do is compare the IP address of the sending server (the DJEP server) with the IP address of the domain that is claiming to be sent from. In this example, the IP address of our server will be different than djcompany.com. Because of this, the likelihood of the email being marked as spam will increase.

Resolution
1) De-spamify the content of your emails. Email addresses, telephone numbers, and links all increase the likelihood of email being marked as spam or rejected.
2) Use your own mail server. You can configure DJEP to send emails through either your web host's mail server or your ISP's mail server. To configure these settings go here: Setup-> Emails->Settings -> Mail Server. You will need to know the following information: username, password, and outgoing mail server address. You will also to do this on a per-employee basis on the same email setup page.
